Synopsis:

Kelsey Hayes is no ordinary college freshman. In fact, the eighteen-year-old girl has just returned from India, where she risked her life—and her heart—to rescue a handsome Indian prince from a terrible curse. Back home in Oregon, Kelsey is determined to move on, despite the lingering feelings she has for the man she left behind. She meets Li, a completely average guy who offers the promise of an ordinary, curse-free life. But just when Kelsey is ready to move on, Ren reenters her life, on a quest to reclaim her heart. Danger threatens their newly rekindled love and to save him, Kelsey must journey with someone else—a man who wants her for himself. The saga begun in Tiger’s Curse continues in Tiger’s Quest, as Kelsey finds herself in an epic battle between good and evil. From the shores of the Pacific Northwest to the jungles of India, the mountains of Nepal and Tibet, and the mystical realm of Shangri-la, this suspenseful tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption is not to be missed.

My Thoughts:

I am so SORRY that this post has been taking such a long time. It's been like a week or more since my last review and that's like 1 YEAR in the blogosphere! The reason for my absence is that I just started high school. And well...it's been a mixed review for me. There are perks like open campus, meeting new people, and dances. But then there are the downsides...like being just an awkward freshman and getting lost every 5 minutes...

It's been an interesting experiance so far...

But on to the review, I am so happy to have finally read Tiger's Quest. I had read Tiger's Curse on my vacation and I ate that stuff up! I think I read more then I went down the water slides, it was that good. But did Tiger's Quest match the first in excellence?

Mehhh, somewhat. Tiger's Quest was as journey filled as the first but I just didn't like it as much. I love the relationship between Ren and Kelsey a lot more then Kelsey and Kishan, who is Ren's equally hot, younger brother. Kishan was too brash for Kelsey and I found him hard to be interesting as the first book depicted. I found myself zoning out a lot and felt disapointed whenever I did. The first book was just so excellent that I was sad to see that this book didn't match it.

Plus, why can't a series just not have a love triangle where you have to pick Team X or Team Y? I mean, Ren is obviously going to end up with Kelsey even if the ending makes it seem like not an option. This is a typical love triangle and I found myself for once, just not digging it.

Although I didn't like Tiger's Quest as much as the first book, I will be looking out for Tiger's Voyage. I highly recommend reading Tiger's Curse but I caution you with Tiger's Quest just because I feel like it wasn't as good but is still essential to read in order to get and understand the whole series.

  1. I'm reading this right now, and while I loved Tiger's Curse, I really feel this book lacks something. I got really angry about the love triangle setup as well... I've looked ahead to the ending (i was that bored with it) and I feel like there could be a Kishan/Kelsey relationship. I do like them two together, mostly because I feel like Kishan is a much more developed character than Ren (who I found kind of flat). I'm almost finished with it, so I'll review it then. But i'm pretty much with you. The first one was so much better.

Also, am I the only one who thinks that a love triangle between a girl and two brothers is kind of weird and awkward? the brother part makes it much more annoying.

P.S. Good luck at high school!! :) I'm a senior this year, almost free!! But really, high school's not that bad. :D

  2. God, I know! The whole awkward brother love triangle thing is just not working for me! And I understand why you would think Ren seems flat. He's too perfect! He needs to have more depth and seem more human like Kishan does!

Ha and ya, I adjusting to high school...it's been quite a ride so far! But so far, I see no YA cliches at schools except that most girls looks the same. Haha.

Thanks for the comment! Made my day :)

  3. Yeah, so I'm pretty much "team" Kishan just because he's more... there. But I do have a feeling she'll end up with Ren, although how, I have no clue.

And yeppp, some girls do not understand the whole "looking exactly like every other girl isn't really a GOOD thing"

    :)

  4. Ya I guess I'm Team Ren just cause it's a given.

And goooood I know! Even the boys! Oh well, I guess it takes some getting used to.

  6. I understand the love triangle. I mean, tell me you won't start feeling something (or at least noticing) the guy you are traveling with? It happens. It totally goes with the plot. Anyway, I read the third book and I loved it. The second was great too.
