Book of the Moment: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

The Mortal War is over, and Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most important of all—Clary can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other.

When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels

The excitement of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series will just never end, will it? I totally thought that end of City of Ashes would be the end of Clary and Jace's story and they could FINALLY get it onnnnn with their relationship. But no. Cassandra Clare has way more in store for us and I can just tell that this book is the beginning of even more spellbinding epic-ness!

This 4th book I have to say, is definitely more of Simon's story. Sure Simon had a big presence in the last 3 books, but in this book, his abilities as a Daylighter vampire and having the Mark of Cain, really show who Simon is truly becoming. And of course there is a lot of Clary and Jace action and yes, watching their relationship never peak to the top is STILL aggravating. Every time they are somewhat getting it on, they have to be interrupted by some stupid reason. It's been like that with their whole relationship and it seems the star crossed lovers will just never peacefully be together!

I have to admit, Jace really pissed me off in this book. He's still being all broody about not being "good" enough for Clary and it made me want to hurl the book across the room. But no, I've been waiting a precious long time to get my hands on this book and plus, this book was so exciting and action filled it made me want to dive right into it myself.

This book was no downer and was just as perfectly and wonderfully written as the 3 previous books in the Mortal Instruments series. And to share a little tidbit, the ending is something you would've never imagined. It is SURREAL! So if you haven't read this series, get off your computer, walk out the door, go to your nearest book store, and buy the whole damn series. Or put a hold on it in the library. Either works, just get the series! This book does not fail to be amazing!

I give it a 5 out of 5 CHEWS!
